A personalised approach to persistent digestive symptoms

Digestive problems such as IBS can have a significant impact on everyday life. Bloating, abdominal discomfort, reflux, changes in bowel habits and reactions to foods can leave you constantly thinking about what you eat and wondering what might trigger symptoms next.

When I work with someone experiencing persistent digestive problems, my aim is to look beyond the symptoms alone and build a broader picture of the factors that may be affecting their digestive health.

Rather than following the same protocol for everyone, we'll look at your health history, diet, lifestyle, symptoms and previous investigations to develop an approach that's individual to you.

Looking at the bigger picture

Digestive symptoms can be influenced by many different factors, and what matters for one person may be completely different for another.

Rather than assuming there is one underlying cause, I look at the wider picture and consider the areas that may be relevant to you.

Digestive function
Including stomach acid, digestive enzymes and bile flow.

Food and diet
Looking for patterns between what you eat and how you feel, without unnecessarily restricting your diet.

Stress and the nervous system
The gut and nervous system are closely connected, so stress, sleep and other lifestyle factors can sometimes play an important role in digestive symptoms.

The gut microbiome

Considering the balance of microorganisms within the digestive system and, where appropriate, whether further investigation such as SIBO testing may be useful.

Nutritional status
Considering whether your diet or digestive function could be affecting your intake or absorption of important nutrients.

Other contributing factors
Your health history, medications, previous infections, lifestyle and environmental factors can all form part of the wider picture.

Assessment and testing

I usually begin with a bioresonance assessment to explore areas of imbalance and build a broader picture of what may be relevant to your digestive health.

I use the findings alongside your symptoms, health history and any previous investigations to help decide where we may want to look more closely.

Where appropriate, I may then recommend conventional or functional testing — for example, SIBO breath test or stool testing, or other investigations — where this could provide useful additional information.

If you've already had blood tests, stool tests, scans or other investigations, please bring these with you so they can be considered as part of the wider picture.

The aim is to investigate purposefully, rather than ordering a large number of tests that may not be necessary.

How I can help

As a Registered Nutritional Therapist, I combine a detailed understanding of your health history with personalised nutrition and lifestyle recommendations.

Where appropriate, I also use bioresonance and functional testing to explore areas that may warrant further attention and to help guide the approach we take.

Recommendations are individual to you and may include changes to diet and lifestyle, nutritional supplements or other complementary approaches depending on what we find.

My aim isn't simply to give you a list of foods to avoid or supplements to take. It's to understand the wider digestive picture and give you a clear, practical plan for moving forward.

The focus is on supporting better digestive function and the body's normal regulatory processes, rather than treating a named disease.
